Compassion

There are many God temples in Athens. Hence Athens is considered the city of the gods. Once a festival was being held at a God temple in Athens, in which the great philosopher of Greece, Plato, was also invited to attend.

When Plato arrived at the God Temple to participate in the festivities, he was deeply saddened by the scenes there. There Plato saw that whoever comes there, brings an animal with him and stands in front of the statue and sacrifices it.

When the animal was attacked, it would suffer for some time and die. This sequence continued.  Seeing all this, the people present there were singing and dancing with joy.

Plato witnessed such a celebration for the first time in his life. So Plato spontaneously left, when a person stopped Plato and said, "Sir, where are you going? Today you have to sacrifice to please the gods, only then the God will be happy."

Hearing this, Plato wet the soil with water. After that, he made an animal from that wet soil and placed it in front of the deity, and sacrificed the animal with a sword.

Seeing all this, the priests present there did not like Plato's behavior and condemned Plato, "Is this your honor for the deity? Is this your sacrifice?"

Plato said, "Yes, I have this respect for the gods and this is the sacrifice. For the God of clay, the sacrifice of an animal made of clay is appropriate, because the God of clay cannot eat or drink anything. Therefore  Inanimate offering is suitable for them. "

The priests opposed Plato, and said to Plato, "Were all those fools who practiced this practice?"

Hearing this, Plato smiled and said, "Those who follow this practice started killing compassion, not animals."

This is to say that we should not kill innocent animals and be kind to them, because the more we humans want to live, the more these animals have the right.
