A Gentleman

Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was an Indian teacher and social reformer.

Born - 26 September 1820, Ghatal
Died - 29 July 1891, Kolkata

A young man was begging on the side of the road. At the same time a gentleman left from there. The young man also requested him to give something.

Gentleman looked at him carefully and then said - Why brother!  You are very healthy. Why are you begging ? The man said, "Sir, earlier I had my own business, but I suffered so much in business that I have to beg."

Hearing this, the gentleman said - Okay tell me, can you start the business again? The young man said- Why not! After taking a loss, I also get to know the nuances of the business.

The gentleman took her home and gave her some money. The young man once again resumed business and within a few days he recovered.

One day he went to the gentleman and returning the money said, "I have not seen a person like you who can trust a beggar."  Gentleman said that this is where we miss. We do not consider people below us worthy, whereas the difference between them and us is that we have got opportunities to do something and they are looking for such opportunities.

This gentleman was Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, whose thinking inspires us to help those who want to do work, but for some reason do not get a fair chance. Because of this, his talent gets frustrated. With the help of such talented persons, their life is also improved and the progress of the society is ensured.

To say that we should help such talented people, who are struggling in search of an opportunity, so that it can move forward, so that the progress of our society and country is possible.
