A single dose of anti-Covid-19 vaccine 'Sputnik-V' can create more immunity against SARS-CoV-2. This has been revealed in a study. COVID-19 is caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus (Study on Sputnik V Vaccine). Study done on 289 health workers
"The peer-reviewed data we present provide information to guide public health decisions in the current global health emergency," he said. The researchers used one dose and two doses of 'Sputnik-V' on 289 healthcare workers in the new study. After taking the first dose, 94 percent of these participants developed 'immunoglobulin G (IGG) antibodies' against the virus and 90 percent showed evidence of neutralizing 'antibodies', which affect the ability of the virus to infect cells.
Study that revealed
The research found that already infected participants had significantly higher levels of IgG and 'neutralizing antibodies' after a single dose than those who did not get the infection. At the same time, the second dose did not increase the production of neutralizing 'antibodies' in already infected (Results of Sputnik V Vaccine Study). He said that the high level of immunity to these people after one dose, suggests the administration to delay the second dose, so that more and more people can get the vaccine as soon as possible.
