Henry Ford Biography

Ford developed and manufactured the first automobile company that could easily be owned by the middle class people of America. The automobile company he built was named after him and soon this company made its mark all over the world and the ordinary automobile company soon started making valuable cars and left an impressive mark in the 20th century.He then came out with the Model T, which revolutionized traffic and American industry.

He was the father of the assembly line used for mass production of the modern era. He brought out a vehicle called "Model T", which revolutionized transportation and American industry. He was also a great inventor. He received 161 US patents. As the owner of the Ford company, he was one of the richest and most famous people in the world.



Early life of Henry Ford 

Henry Ford was born on July 30, 1863, at Greenfield Farm, Michigan.Actually his family was from Somerset, England. Ford's parents died at the age of 15. Henry Ford's siblings include Margaret Ford (1867–1938), Jane Ford (1868–1945), William Ford (1871–1917) and Robert Ford (1873–1934).

As a teenager, his father gave him a pocket watch. Ford had a complete collapse at the age of 15, but with the help of friends and neighbors, he rose again and made a mark as a clock fixer.  Ford was married to Clara Jane Bryant (1866–1950) on April 11, 1888, and with the help of his wife, he also ran a sawmill.  They also have a son: Edsel Ford (1893–1943).

At the age of five, Henry was enrolled in a nearby town school. After passing the fifth, Henry had to walk two and a half kilometers from home for further studies. It was the father's wish that Henry should become a good farmer, but Henry's mind was busy in the other direction. At the age of 11, Henry's toys were different from ordinary children.  Tea kettles, empty plows and small parts were his toys. At a very young age, he started repairing the clocks of the neighbors.

Henry Ford, an early watch repairer, was instrumental in the invention and modernization of the motorcar.  Henry moved to Detroit against his father's wishes and started working in a factory, but could not fulfill his dream of making a car with the income from there. So he started working part-time with a goldsmith and would also improve the clocks in the evening. It was only a short time while in Detroit that my father got a message about his health and he went back home. The entire responsibility of the farm had now fallen on Henry's shoulders.

At the age of 16, he left home and moved to Detroit. He got the knowledge of mechanical science by working in many factories here.  He returned home in 1886, settled on 80 acres of land given by his father and opened a machine repair factory there. They were married in 1887 and in the same year they made a plan to make gas engines and heavy farm machines, but due to their special fascination for machines, they could not survive at home and then moved to Detroit.

In 1890, he started working in the Detroit Edison Electric Company and in 1893 made the first petrol-powered vehicle, which had a power of 4 HP. In 1893, Henry Ford started making another car and in 1899 he left the job of the Electric Company and founded the Detroit Automobile Company. Then leaving this company, he started making cars that participated in the race. These vehicles got success in many races, due to which they got a big name.

Due to this fame, Henry Ford founded the Ford Motor Company in 1903. In the first year, Ford Motor Company made 1708 vehicles of two cylinders and 8 HP. The company got 100% profit from their sale. In the second year, 5000 of his vehicles were sold.  Henry Ford Ford became the president of this company and eventually removed the other shareholders and became the owner of the entire company including his only son Edsel Briet Ford.

In the first year, Ford Motor Company produced 1,708 vehicles with two cylinders and eight horsepower. The company got 100% profit from their sale. In the second year 5,000 vehicles were sold. Henry Ford became the chairman of the company and eventually became the owner of the entire company including his only son, Edsel Bryant Ford, K., removing the other shareholders.

Their aim was to build light, fast, sturdy but cheap motor vehicles. To achieve this, he adopted the principles of standardization of machine parts, progressive assembly, widespread sales and high wages. He also made tractors for agriculture, by the year 1924 his company had made 20 lakh vehicles, logic and tractors and by 1931 the number of vehicles manufactured in all his factories reached 20 million.



 Interesting facts about Henry Ford

A few years ago, Henry Ford decided to make its famous v-8 motor. He wanted to make a v-8 engine for the car, a car that the common people could also afford. For this, he decided to make such an engine in which it was decided to put eight cylinders in one place and asked his engineers to design this engine. This design was made on paper. But the engineers believed that this is impossible.  Henry Ford told him to make it somehow.  But he said that it is impossible. Henry Ford ordered him to go ahead and keep going until you succeed, no matter how long it takes.

An anecdote is often told about the great industrialist Henry Ford. Henry Ford was a billionaire, yet he used to come to his office and factory in plain clothes! Seeing this, all his employees were very surprised and talked among themselves that the boss has so much money, yet they come to the office in such simple clothes! One day his secretary courageously told him, "Sir, you have so much money that you can order more than one clothes from all over the world, yet you come to the office in such simple clothes? Henry Ford smiled and said, "Everyone here knows I'm Henry Ford! Why should I worry about showing everyone that I am Henry Ford by wearing expensive clothes?

With the capital of investors, Henry Ford established the automobile company, then leaving this company, he started making racer cars. That car got success in many races, it earned him a lot of name. With this fame, he founded the Ford Motor Company. Ford Motor manufactured 1,708 cars in the first year and it made a lot of profit from it, the next year they increased production to 5000 cars. Five years later in 1908, the company launched the Model T car, which revolutionized the motor car industry.  10,000 cars were sold in the first year itself. This profited him so much that he set up more manufacturing plants in France and in England.



 Idea of Henry Ford 

Henry Ford had a strange mix of idealism and fanaticism. They were biased towards mass production, but they also thought that industry should be decentralized in such a way that the work of factories along with agriculture.They were in favor of higher wages, but were vehemently opposed to trade unions; They even used spies and armed police to prevent unions from flourishing in their factories. They were staunch advocates of peace, but like the Nazis they were anti-Semitic.

They also did not get along with banks and moneylenders. During the First World War, he gathered some influential people and traveled to Europe on a peace ship called "Oscar II" in the belief that this campaign would be able to stop the war. Despite all this, he had gained great popularity due to his partiality towards the country life and unwavering reverence for the past customs and souvenirs of America.
