Criticism

Rabindranath Tagore (Born at Kolkata, in India) was a great poet and his personality was also very unique. Whatever work he used to do, he used to do it as austerity.  He was completely immersed in his work.

There were many people who were envious of Rabindranath Tagore's good deeds and his fame. Some people systematically started criticizing Rabindranath Tagore in the society. These things were also reaching Rabindranath Tagore that people were doing evil. sometimes people in front of them used to say derogatory words, but Rabindranath Tagore did not oppose anyone. He used to smile at the critics. He was not affected by such things and kept busy with his work.

One day the famous novelist Saratchandra Chatterjee (Born at Kolkata, in India) said to Rabindranath Tagore, 'We do not like to hear that you are being criticized. If you say, we will oppose them. Will teach a lesson to all of them. And, I would also ask you to teach a lesson to the critics.'

Rabindranath Tagore said, 'This work will not be done by me. The slanderers have their own level and I have my own level. I cannot come down to their level and I cannot even advise them to drop their level. How does it matter? If we want to do big things, then we should know to ignore such things. You also take these things out of your mind.'

Rabindranath Tagore has taught us that when we have to do big things, then our energy should not be spent on people who do evil. Your energy should be used to accomplish good deeds. Those who do great things are condemned. That is why there is no use in paying attention to these things. Just focus on your work.
