Reema and Sakshi had been friends since childhood. Their friendship began in the small neighborhood school. The first time Reema stepped into school, she was terrified. The new children, new books, and unfamiliar environment brought tears to her eyes. Then Sakshi, sitting next to her, extended her notebook and said, "Here, write in this... nothing will happen to you. I'm with you."
From that day, their friendship began.
Reema excelled in studies, and Sakshi excelled in sports. Complementing each other's shortcomings was their greatest strength. They stood together in every school competition—sometimes Reema would help Sakshi with her studies, and sometimes Sakshi would encourage her to excel in dance and sports.
Time passed. School ended, and college separated their paths. But their friendship remained as strong. Talking for hours on the phone, meeting up during festivals, and supporting each other in difficult times—all of this became a habit.
Once, Reema's mother suddenly fell ill. It became difficult for her to raise money for her treatment. Reema was devastated, but at that very moment, Sakshi, without telling her, withdrew her savings and handed it to her.
Tears welled up in Reema's eyes:
"How can I repay all this?"
Sakshi smiled:
"There's no repayment in friendship, you fool... it's just a matter of fulfilling it."
On the other hand, Sakshi faced many difficulties in finding a job. Whenever she felt discouraged, Reema stood by her. She helped her prepare for interviews, helped her with her progress every time.
Gradually, both of them began to succeed in their respective paths. But one truth remained: a friend is one who stands by you through thick and thin, without any selfish motives.
Even today, when they meet, they burst into laughter remembering the old days. For them, friendship means more than just being together, but being each other's support.
✨ Lesson : A true friend is one who never abandons you even in difficult times. When life's paths get rough, it's the friend who picks us up again.
