The Stone of Sorrow

Once upon a time, a great sage lived in a village.

People would come to him with their problems, and the sage would guide them.

One day, a man came to the sage and asked him a question.  He asked the sage, "Gurudev, I want to know the secret to being happy forever." The sage told him, "Come with me to the forest. I will tell you the secret to being happy."

Saying this, the sage and the man started walking towards the forest.

On the way, the sage picked up a large stone and told the man to hold it and walk.

The man picked up the stone and started walking towards the forest with the sage.

After some time, the man's hand began to hurt, but he remained silent and continued walking. But when a lot of time passed and the man could no longer bear the pain, he told the sage that he was in pain.

The sage told him to put the stone down. After putting the stone down, the man felt great relief.

Then the sage said, "This is the secret to being happy." The man said, "Gurudev, I understand."  No.

So the sage said- Just as holding this stone in hand for a minute causes a little pain, and if held for an hour, it causes a little more pain, and if we keep holding it for a longer time, the pain will increase, similarly, the longer we carry the burden of sorrow, the more sad and depressed we will be.

It depends on us whether we carry the burden of sorrow for a minute or for a lifetime. If you want to be happy, then learn to put down the stone of sorrow as quickly as possible, and if possible, do not pick it up at all.
