A man worked at a businessman's shop. He worked with utmost honesty and dedication.
The businessman was very pleased with his work, and the salary he received from the businessman provided him with a comfortable living. Days passed like this.
One day, the man didn't show up for work without informing him. His absence brought the businessman's work to a halt.
Then he thought, "This man has been working honestly for so long. How long has it been since I raised his salary? How can he survive on this little money?"
The businessman thought that if he increased his salary, he would work harder and more diligently. He increased his salary starting the very next day.
When the man received the increased salary on the following date, he was surprised. But he said nothing and quietly kept the money...
Gradually, the matter was settled. After a few months, the man was absent again one day.
This angered the owner. He thought, "What an ungrateful man he is! I increased his salary, but he neither thanked me nor understood his responsibility. What good was the increase? He won't improve!"
And that very day, the owner decided to take back the increased salary.
On the next 1st, the man was given his old salary again. But surprisingly, this time too, the man remained silent. He didn't complain to the owner at all. Seeing this, the owner couldn't control himself and asked, "You're a strange man, brother. When I first increased your salary after you were absent, you still didn't say anything."
And today, when I reduced your salary again due to your absence, you remained silent. What's the reason for this?
The man replied, "When I was absent for the first time, a child was born in my house. When you increased my salary then, I thought God had sent me a portion to support that child. That's why I wasn't very happy. ...

The businessman was overwhelmed by this. He hugged the man again and apologized for his behavior. After that, he not only restored his salary to its original level, but also began to respect him even more.
