When Socrates was a child, he used to go for a walk every day along a certain path.
On that path, there was a potter's house who made clay pots. He would sit near the potter and watch him intently. He loved watching the potter's process.
One day, seeing Socrates' concentration, the potter called him over and asked, "Son, you pass by here every day and sit near me, watching... what do you see?"
"I watch you make pots, and I love watching the process... but it has raised some questions in my mind... which I want to ask you."
Hearing Socrates' words, the potter said, "That's a very good idea... ask whatever you want?"
"Where are the designs for the pots you make made?"
"Its plan is first formed in my mind..."
Hearing this, Socrates spoke enthusiastically.
"I understand..."
The potter asked in surprise.
"What do you understand?"
"That everything is formed in thought before creation. This means that we were already formed in the Creator's thought, and creation came later... Now my next question is, when you are making a vessel, what do you do that makes it so beautiful?"
"I make it with love. Everything I make is done with a pure heart and I use my abilities to the fullest so that there are no flaws or weaknesses."
Socrates said, nodding his head.
"I understand this too, because the Creator loves us so much, that's why He created us...
The next question is, you've been making pots for so long, is there any wish you want fulfilled?"
"Yes! I do... I want to make a pot that will make the world admire it, and that it will be different and special from the previous pots..." the potter said longingly.
Socrates jumped with joy upon hearing this.
"Wow! The Creator always strives to create something that will make the world involuntarily admire it, because the Creator knows that no one like the person I am sending into this world will ever come again..."
