Henry Ford was the first business man in the world who was known for paying the highest salary to his employees in the market. Once a journalist came and asked Henry Ford, "Who do you pay the highest salary to?"
Ford smiled, and took the journalist to his production room. Work was going on everywhere, people were running, bells were ringing, and elevators were running. There was chaos in the entire hall. Amidst that chaos, there was a cabin in which a man was lying comfortably on a chair with his feet on the table. He had a hat on his face.
Ford knocked on the door. The man looked out from under the hat and said in a tired voice,
"Hello Henry, are you okay?"
Ford smiled and nodded. Then he closed the door and went out. The journalist kept watching the whole scene in surprise.
Ford said laughing,"This person gets the highest salary in my company."
The journalist asked in surprise,"What does this person do?"
Ford replied,"Nothing. He just comes, and sits all day with his feet on the table."
The reporter asked,"Then why do you pay him the highest salary?"
Ford replied,"Because he is the most useful person to me."
Ford said,"I have hired this person to think. All the systems and car designs of my company are his ideas. He comes, lies down on a chair, thinks, creates new ideas, and sends them to me. I work on them and earn millions of dollars."
Ford said,"The most valuable things in the world are ideas, and for ideas you need free time. Complete peace, freedom from all kinds of chatter. If you are busy day and night, new ideas and new projects cannot come to your mind. That's why I have hired a sensible person just to think. I have also given him financial freedom so that he can give me a new idea every day."
The journalist was forced to clap.
If you also try to understand this wisdom of Henry Ford, you will not be able to stop yourself from clapping.
If a person is a laborer or a craftsman, he works all day. But as he rises, his leisure time increases. People in big industries and new areas do not step out of their homes for the whole year.
In the world of business, Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are also the most leisurely people. Warren Buffet reads for four and a half hours daily. Bill Gates finishes two books a week. Both of them read about 80 books in a year. They drive their own cars, stand in line to get coffee and burgers, and use smartphones less. But despite this, they are the richest people in the world. How? Because of leisure and freedom of thinking.
Unless we are mentally free, our mind does not work on big ideas.
Therefore, if you want to do something big in the world, then you have to keep yourself free. If you keep yourself busy in small tasks, then you will not be able to think and then you will not be able to do any big work in life.
