It was the last year of college. Reema and Arjun's relationship had been going on for three years - everything was beautiful. They studied together, laughed, cried, spent every moment together. They visited each other's homes. Arjun had said many times - "Our marriage is fixed, so it is important to express a little love, isn't it?"
Reema hesitated a bit, but then thought - "Maybe this is true love. When hearts have met, all this is also normal." And slowly all those boundaries started breaking, which Reema had learnt from childhood that one should not cross before marriage.
There was love in the relationship, but when the part of physical intimacy started increasing more than necessary, Reema started feeling that something was changing somewhere.
Slowly Arjun's behavior started changing - now he used to call less, talked less when he met and wanted more "closeness". When Reema asked him - "Do you need my body more than talking to me?"
So the answer she got was - "I love you, that's why I want you. Otherwise there was no need to even touch you."
Reema was broken from inside.
She thought - "Is relationship just a name of kiss, hug and physical touch? Then where did the trust, time, understanding and emotional support go?"
She spent that night awake. The next morning when Arjun said - "You have changed a lot," then Reema said for the first time -
"I have not changed, I have just understood now."
And she ended the relationship right there.
It has been 5 years today. Reema is now a strong, self-reliant and happy woman. There is someone in her life who never crossed her limits before marriage. Who says - "You are my respect, not a need. Everything will happen after marriage, but today your mind and your dignity are my priority."
✍️ The truth is this: : - True love touches the soul before the body. A relationship is not just romance — it is about trust, understanding and respect.
If someone tries to push your boundaries in the name of “love”, then believe me — it is just “desire”, not love.
