People of many castes and communities live in the world, who have their own different customs and beliefs. The rules and laws of these people are also completely different. Tribal species live in forests and still follow traditions that are thousands of years old. These tribes have full rights over the place where they live. Governments also do not interfere in the rights of these tribes. They have preserved their traditions even today.
One such tribal community lives in the African continent. They follow some such traditions that you will be surprised to know about them. The name of this tribe is Himba which lives in Namibia.
The total population of this tribe living in Namibia is about 50 thousand. Bathing is strictly prohibited in this tribe. This tribe has not been affected by the modern world. Most of the time of this tribe is spent in the fields.
In the Himba tribe, a very interesting tradition is followed when a child is born. In this tribe, the date of birth is not considered after the child is born, rather the child is considered born from the time the woman thinks about the child.
It is said that women are advised to listen to songs related to children. After this, they sit under the tree and listen to songs related to children. After this, they sing the song to their partner as well. They sing this song even when they have sex. When the woman becomes pregnant, she teaches the song to other women of the tribe. When the woman becomes pregnant, everyone surrounds her and sings this song. The song is sung to the person till his last breath.
Bathing is strictly prohibited in the Himba tribe. Women of the tribe bathe only once in their entire life. That too only on their wedding day. What is even more surprising is that they cannot use water to wash their clothes.
The women of the tribe follow a special method to keep themselves clean. They boil special herbs in water and clean themselves using the steam so that the body does not smell. Along with this, they apply a special lotion to protect the skin from the sun. It is made from animal fat and hematite, a mineral element similar to iron.
