City Floating On Water

A city floating on water is going to be built in Busan city of South Korea. You may not believe this, but it is absolutely true. This city will be nothing less than a wonder. The world's first floating city is being prototyped. Scientists are preparing it with the support of the United Nations.

This project was announced last year, whose name is OCEANIX. In the newly designed photographs of this city, it can be seen that the interconnected platforms are spread over an area of 15.5 acres. 12000 people can be settled in this unique city. It has been estimated that more than 15 billion rupees will be spent to make the city floating on water. The construction of this city will be completed by the year 2025. Philip Hoffmann, CIO of OCEANIX, has told many things about this city.

Philipp Hoffmann says that by building the OCEANIX Busan, we want to show that floating infrastructure on water can create new ground for coastal cities. Sustainable methods are being sought to deal with the ever-increasing sea level.

He said that our aim is to help the people living in the coastal areas with this project. We want to help those whose existence is threatened by rising sea levels.

It has been told by OCEANIX that two out of five people in the world are living within a radius of 100 km from the coast. Every year lakhs of people are forced to leave their homes due to floods.

This city will be built on a very beautiful blue lagoon. There will be many pools in this city.  The base of the city will be several interconnected platforms. A city will be settled in a total area of 15.5 acres.

The city will be divided into different areas, which will have facilities for living, research and housing. The height of the buildings in the city will not be high. Such buildings will be constructed which are less than seven storeys in height. Strong winds would not affect these buildings.

Busan experiences scorching heat, due to which the roofs of buildings will be shaded so that solar energy can also be used. Each island of the city will have six corners. All these will be covered with limestone which is stronger than concrete.
