Berryessa Lake

There is a lake in California, USA, which has remained a cause of surprise for the people these days. In this lake there is a 72 feet wide giant hell's door which is also called by some people as glory hole. This door has opened at this time. The local people have been taken by surprise because of this strange incident. The lake is located in the eastern Napa Valley of California named Berrysa. The water in this lake has become too much, due to which a 72 feet wide tunnel has been formed. This tunnel is acting as a drain, from which the excess water filled in the lake is coming out.

Actually Berryessa lake is not natural, it has been created by humans, inside which is the door of hell. This door is rarely opened and this year it has been opened in the month of April. Let us know what is the door of hell after all?

In the tunnel built in Berryessa lake, the water moves like a chakri and comes out in such a way that the human mind wanders after seeing it.  This tunnel built in the lake looks like a pit.  According to a media report, when more water accumulates in this lake, then the extra water comes out of this huge hole. It looks amazing like a vortex. This reservoir i.e. lake has been constructed over the Monticello Dam.

52 million gallons of water can be stored in this reservoir. It is not that this sight has been seen for the first time. Such a sight has been seen before. In the 1950s, engineers built an amazing structure, due to which this view is seen in the lake.

Napa County, a mountainous region in California, is the seventh largest human-made lake. The height of this concrete dam is about 304 feet, due to which this lake is formed. This lake was created between 1953 and 1957.  During this time, the engineers built the glory hole to remove the excess water.

This 72 feet wide glory hole is opened only when the water of the lake crosses the danger mark. It is opened to remove excess water from the lake.  It was opened after the water level of the lake rose above 4.7 metres.

When the lake's water level exceeds 4.7 meters, 1,360 cubic meters of water can flow out of the glory hole every second. When its gate is opened, 1,360 cubic meters of water comes out every second. This water reaches from here to another place. People gather here to see this sight.

In the year 1997, a woman who went to see this sight reached near it and went into the pit due to the eyes getting confused. Access to it has been banned since then. According to a report, this glory hole was last opened in the year 2019.  After the water in the lake recedes, the door of hell is closed.
