There are many such dangerous places in the world, whose secret no one has been able to know till date. A similar dangerous lake is in the Limpopo province of South Africa, which is known as Lake Funduji. It is believed that whoever drinks the water of this lake, he does not survive. Soon he dies.
According to locals, a leper who passed through here in ancient times was denied food and shelter by the people living here, after which he cursed them and disappeared after entering the lake. It is said that in the early morning the sounds of drums, screams of animals and people can be heard from inside the lake. It is also believed among the people that this lake is protected by a huge dragon living on the mountains. To appease the dragon, a dance festival is organized every year by the people of the Venda tribe in which unmarried girls dance.
Formation of lake
This lake was formed in ancient times due to the blockage of the flow of Mutali river due to landslides. Now it remains a mystery that the water of this river is absolutely clean, then what is there in it, which kills people after drinking it.
Checking of the lake
Many attempts were made from time to time to solve the mystery of this lake, but without any success. It is claimed that the last attempt to know the truth of this lake was made by Andy Levine in 1946. He reached the lake and took the plants there along with the water, but he lost his way. This happened many times, in such a situation, he threw water and plants, then he saw the right path. But, he died a week later. After this incident, people started getting scared due to any kind of tampering with this lake.
The water of this lake remains a mystery to the people even today. Most people attribute the emission of some poisonous gas behind the dangerous water of the lake, but no concrete evidence of this has been found so far.
