Good Work

There was once a woman who was very straight and simple in nature. When she used to cook her home, she always used to make more than one bread and she used to keep that bread on the window of her house so that whoever needs it can take it.

There was a monk who started coming daily and took the bread placed on that window. But after taking the bread, that monk always used to say a line, 'Your evil done will stay with you and your good will definitely come back to you.'

For a day or two, the woman listened to the monk and ignored it. It was a daily habit of that woman. Whenever she cooked food for her family, she used to cook more than one bread and always kept it at the window. It became a daily thing. That monk will come and take that bread and say the same thing again, 'Your evil done will stay with you and your good will definitely come back to you.'

For a few days, the woman kept listening to the monk's words and after that he started getting angry with the monk.

The lady started thinking that this monk is very strange. For so many days, I have been making it as a bread, but till date it has not thanked me.  This Baba always goes on speaking strangely. What a mess I have done to someone.

One day that lady got so angry with that monk and said that I want to get rid of this monk.  Angry, the woman made a poisoned bread for the monk.

The woman had made poisoned bread and kept it on the window, then suddenly a voice came from inside that,'what am i doing?' I am taking someone's life.

Immediately the woman picked up the poisoned bread from the window and placed a nice bread there. That monk came again. He picked up the bread and said the same thing again, 'Your evil done will stay with you and your good will come back to you.'

The woman ignored this and went inside. The woman also had a son who worked abroad. The woman prayed to him day and night. The woman had not been able to talk to her son for several days. Suddenly on the same day the doorbell rang and she sees her son standing up.  The woman was very happy to see this.

But she was saddened to see her son's condition.  The son looked so thin that he had not eaten for several days.

The mother asked the son, "What happened son?" The son said, 'Mother - the country where I was, there was war for many days. We were imprisoned. I came back after saving my life with great difficulty. It seemed that I was about to die, but an old monk was found on the way.

I told him to give something to eat. He had a bread in his hand which he gave me to eat. '  Probably for that reason I have been able to reach home. The son further told the mother that the monk told me, 'Your evil done will stay with you and your good will definitely come back to you.'

Hearing the mother, placed his hand on his heart and thanked God , because today he took back the poisoned bread from the window.

In this way, that woman also understood the meaning of what the monk said today that your good will definitely come back to you.

There are moments in life where we get tired of doing good work. If no one praises us, we feel that we should not do well now.

Therefore, we should always keep doing good and keep moving forward, because it is said that good is always done to those who do good.
