In a vast forest lived a very powerful and ferocious lion named Bhasurak. He hunted many animals daily to satisfy his hunger. All the animals in the forest were very afraid of him.
One day, all the animals gathered together and went to the lion and said, "Your Majesty, you kill so many animals every day. One day, the forest will become empty. We have a proposal for you. We will send you one animal every day for your food. This will provide you with food without any effort, and we will also be safe." The lion agreed.
One day, as usual, it was the turn of a small rabbit. The rabbit was very intelligent and clever. He devised a plan to save his life. He deliberately arrived at the lion very late.
The hungry lion roared angrily, "Why did you come so late? And besides, you are so small. How will you satisfy my hunger?"
The rabbit folded his hands and said, "Your Majesty! This is not my fault. I was on my way when I met another lion. He introduced himself as the king of this jungle and stopped me. I somehow saved my life and came running to you."
Hearing this, the arrogant lion became furious and said, "I am the only king of this jungle! Take me to that other lion immediately."
The rabbit took the lion to a deep well and said, "Your Majesty, that evil lion is hiding inside this fort (well)."
As soon as the lion looked into the well, he saw his own reflection in the water. In anger, he mistook his own reflection for another lion. He roared loudly, and the well echoed back. Without thinking, the arrogant lion jumped into the well and drowned to his death. Thus, the clever rabbit used his intelligence to save his life and the lives of all the animals in the jungle.
