A king owned a goat. Once, he announced that he would give half his kingdom to anyone who grazed the goat in the forest to satisfy it.
But he would personally test whether the goat was full.
Hearing this announcement, a man approached the king and said that grazing a goat was no big deal.
He took the goat to the forest and grazed it all day. By evening, he had fed the goat abundantly. Then, thinking, "It's eaten so much grass all day. Now it must be full, so I should take it to the king."
He went to the king with the goat. The king placed some green grass in front of the goat, and the goat began to eat.
The king retorted to the man, "You haven't fed it enough, otherwise why would it eat grass?"
Many people tried to feed the goat, but as soon as grass was placed in front of it in the court, it would start eating again.
A learned Brahmin thought there must be some secret, some substance to this announcement.
I will use some trick. He took the goat out to graze. Whenever the goat went to eat grass, he would hit it with a stick. This happened several times throughout the day. Finally, the goat thought that if it tried to eat grass, it would be beaten.
In the evening, the Brahmin returned to the royal court with the goat. He hadn't fed the goat any grass, yet he told the king that he had fed it to its fill.
So, it won't eat grass at all now. So, let's test it...
The king fed the goat some grass, but so what? It didn't even look or smell...
The goat had a deep-seated belief that if it
ate grass, it would be beaten... so it didn't eat...
Consider, this goat is our mind. The Brahmin who took the goat to graze is the "soul."
The king is the "God." Don't kill your mind, control it... If your mind improves, your life will improve.
So, beat your mind daily with the stick of wisdom...
Earnings may be small or big... but the size of the bread is almost the same in every household...
If you see someone as small, you are either looking at them from a distance or with pride!
