Faith and Fear

With years of rigorous training and unwavering determination, a mountaineer decided to conquer the world's highest peak. His ambition was so strong that he vowed not to share this honor with anyone else and began his journey alone.

Days passed, and he grew closer to his destination. One evening, when the sun had set and dark clouds had completely obscured the moon, he continued his climb instead of stopping. The summit was just a few feet away when suddenly, a block of ice slipped, and he began falling uncontrollably into the abyss.

Amidst the howling of the wind and the sound of death, he felt the safety rope tied around his waist snap him in midair.

Punching through the silence, he cried out, "Oh God! Save me!"

Then a solemn voice echoed: "Do you really have unwavering faith in me?"

The mountaineer tremblingly said, "Yes, Lord, 100%!"

A voice came: "Then, cut this rope tied around your waist."

The mountaineer was stunned. It was pitch-dark below, and that thin rope was his only support. He put his logic and fear above God's command and held on tighter to the rope.

The next morning, when the first rays of sunlight touched the valley, the rescue team discovered a heartbreaking scene.

The mountaineer's body was frozen with cold, his hands gripping the rope with all his might... and he was hanging just 5 feet above the ground.

If he had cut that 'rope' (his ego and doubt) just once, he would have been safely on earth.

Moral of the story : - We all hold on to our own 'ropes' (such as position, money, logic, or fear) in our lives.  We ask God for help, but when He asks us to give up something, our fear overpowers our faith.

Remember : - God's perspective is much greater than ours.

Where our logic ends, faith begins.

He never lets us fall; we just have to loosen our grip.
