Once upon a time, a powerful and just king ruled a kingdom. His court was graced by a very intelligent and shrewd minister. The minister's wisdom and prudence enabled the king to solve many difficult problems with ease. The people of the kingdom also held the minister in high regard.
One day, the king became extremely angry with his minister over something. In a fit of rage, he ordered him to leave the kingdom immediately and never return. The minister was deeply saddened by the king's order, but he remained obedient. Without protesting, he left the kingdom and went to a distant village, disguised as a simple laborer. There, he began working as a simple laborer in a farmer's field.
Some time passed. After the minister's departure, the king quickly began to miss him. He began to struggle with making decisions regarding various court matters. Problems that the minister had previously solved in a jiffy were now becoming increasingly complicated. The king realized his mistake and began to miss his minister.
The king sent soldiers to find the minister. The soldiers searched numerous towns and villages, but the minister was nowhere to be found. Exhausted, the soldiers returned to the king. The king was determined to bring the minister back at any cost. Then he devised a unique plan.
The king had his soldiers send a message to the village heads throughout the kingdom. The message read:"Within a month, present yourself to the court with a pot filled with wisdom. If anyone fails, they must fill the pot with diamonds and jewels."
This message caused a stir throughout the kingdom. All the village heads were worried about how wisdom could be stored in a pot.
The message also reached the village where the minister was working in a farmer's field in disguise. The village head immediately called a meeting. All the villagers looked worried. The minister also attended the meeting disguised as an ordinary farmer.
When no solution was found in the meeting, the minister came forward and said,"Mukhiaji, please give me a pot. I will fill it with wisdom by the end of the month."
The chief had no other option. He gave the pot to the minister. The minister took the pot to the field. He picked a small pumpkin from a pumpkin vine growing in his field and carefully placed it inside the pot while it was still attached to the vine.
The minister regularly watered and fertilized the pumpkin. Within a few days, the pumpkin slowly began to grow. Over time, it grew so large that it became impossible to take it out of the pot. When the pumpkin had completely reached the size of the pot, the minister cut it from the vine and covered the mouth of the pot with a cloth.
At the end of the month, he handed the pot to the village head and said,"Give this to the king and tell him that it is filled with wisdom. If possible, take it out without breaking the pot or cutting the pumpkin."
The chief arrived at the court with the pot. When the king looked inside, he saw a pumpkin. The king immediately realized that only his minister could have such profound thoughts. Upon further investigation, he discovered the truth.
The king himself went to the village, met the minister, and apologized for his mistake. He respectfully brought the minister back to the court.
