One Student's Impact: The Inspiring Story of Kyu-Shirataki Station



This is a true story from Japan. Last decade, a railway station called Kyu-Shirataki, located on the Japanese island of Hokkaido, was decided to be closed due to a lack of passengers. But then the administration learned that a girl named Kana Harada took the train to and from school every day. She had no other means of transportation.

So the Japanese government kept the station where the girl's home and school were located operational, and for several years, trains specifically stopped at these two stations to ensure she wouldn't miss school. The station was finally closed after the girl graduated in 2016.

This exemplifies a developed nation's commitment to providing education to its citizens.

Our country, in the world, has seen numerous schools closed or merged with other schools in the past 10 years, citing low student numbers or other reasons. Consequently, millions of children have dropped out of school.  Hundreds of papers have been leaked in the last ten years. Students demanding answers from the government regarding paper leaks and recruitment are beaten on the streets. When the opposition leader raises questions in Parliament, his microphone is turned off. Five kilograms of rice are all they get to fill their stomachs.

The biggest fear of any government based on religion is "education."

Because when a person becomes educated, they start asking questions.
