Once, when billionaire Henry Ford arrived in England on a business trip, he went to the airport information desk and asked about the cheapest hotel in town.
The clerk looked at his worn-out coat and modest luggage and hesitated.
Then, recognizing the face he had seen countless times in the newspapers, he asked :"Excuse me, sir... are you Mr. Henry Ford?"
"Yes," Ford replied calmly.
Confused, the clerk said :"I follow the news. I know your son always stays in the best hotels and wears designer clothes. Yet you're asking about the cheapest place to stay and wearing a coat that looks older than you. Why would a billionaire save money like this?"
Ford smiled and replied :"Because I don't see the point in spending extra money on things I don't need.
Wherever I sleep, I'm still Henry Ford. And this coat? It was my father's, but that doesn't change who I am."
He added, "My son is still young. He worries about what people will think if he lives in a modest place. But I don't. I know my worth. I became a billionaire not by spending, but by knowing what really matters in life and what doesn't."
💐Lesson : - "True wealth doesn't mean showing off, but knowing your worth and never letting the world define you by your clothes, car, or hotel room."
