The Wise Minister and the Cows

Once, a merchant brought two cows to the king's palace. Both were healthy, beautiful, and nearly identical in appearance.

The merchant said to the king, "Your Majesty, these cows are a mother and daughter, but I don't know who the mother is and who the daughter is, because there's not much difference between them. I asked people in many places, but no one could identify them. Later, someone told me that your elderly minister is very intelligent, and I'll definitely find the answer to my question here, so I came here. Please solve my problem!"

Hearing this, all the courtiers looked at the minister. The minister got up from his seat and went towards the cows. He examined them closely, but even he couldn't distinguish which one was the mother and which one was the daughter.

Now, the minister was in a dilemma. He asked the merchant for a day's respite.

When he returned home, he was extremely worried. His wife understood this. When she asked the minister the reason for his worry, he told her about the merchant.

Hearing this, his wife said, "Oh! It's just that simple. I can explain it too."

The next day, the minister took his wife to where the cows were tied. The minister's wife placed a good meal in front of both cows. After a while, she explained the difference between the mother and daughter. People were astonished.

The minister's wife said, "After eating quickly, the first cow started eating the second cow's food, and the second cow left her food for the first. Only a mother can do this?

That means the second one is a mother. Only a mother can go hungry for her child. Only a mother possesses the qualities of sacrifice, compassion, affection, and love."

There is no one greater than a mother in this world.  Even God has to bow at the feet of the mother.
