The story takes place during the Second World War (1939 to 1945). The war had already begun. During that time, a Russian soldier, Vladimir Spiridonovich Putin (1911-1999), is posted to a village far from his home. He remains there for several months. Because the war was ongoing, there was an atmosphere of fear and terror everywhere, because anything could happen anywhere.
This soldier, taking a seven-day leave, returns to his village to visit his family. He is shocked to see the scene. The entire village population and all the houses have been destroyed. Piles of corpses lie everywhere. Bombs are falling from the sky. The scene was heartbreaking. Nothing was left anywhere. Then he sees a vehicle carrying scattered bodies for a mass funeral.
As soon as this soldier's eyes fall on the bodies piled up in the vehicle, he pauses, noticing the shoes and clothes on one of the bodies. He looks closer and realizes it's his wife, Maria. He tells the soldiers in the vehicle that the body belongs to him and requests them to give him the body so he can perform her last rites with his own hands. The soldiers then pull the body out of the vehicle and place it on the ground.
Seeing the body lying on the ground, the soldier feels as if it still has some life left in it, and he immediately picks it up on his shoulders and runs towards the army medical camp.
Call it the doctors' efforts or the will of God, the woman who was supposed to be cremated after a few hours survives. A few days later, she returns home completely healthy.
By then, the war had ended. People were building new homes, and families were settling down. And then, a few months later, Maria becomes pregnant, and one day, on October 7, 1952, she gives birth to a healthy baby boy named Putin! Yes, the same Russian President Putin, who is today the world's most powerful person.
(This incident was mentioned by US President Bill Clinton's wife, Hillary Clinton, in her biography "Hard Choices." This passage is taken from there.)
Russian President Putin was born in Leningrad, Soviet Union, now known as St. Petersburg. He was the youngest of three children of Vladimir Spiridonovich Putin (1911-1999) and Maria Ivanovna Putina (née Shelomova; 1911-1998). The first two died prematurely due to illness and poverty. Thus, Putin is his parents' only child.
Today, when this youngest child from a poor family flies in the sky (in an Ilyushin IL-96_300 PU), not just one, but several aircraft fly in front and behind him for his security. And when he travels on the ground, his car (Aurus Senat) is a moving fortress. Speaking of his bodyguards, their security and service profile are rarely seen anywhere. Perhaps you've also heard of Putin's pop suitcase for the first time.
However, Putin's childhood was spent in a very humble way, in a small room on the fifth floor of a communal apartment in Leningrad. His father, after serving in the army, became a factory foreman, and his mother worked as a cook in people's homes. Putin's grandfather was also a cook in his time. Overall, the family was very poor and ordinary.
Despite this, Putin was fearless and stubborn from childhood. He had a passion for espionage. His dream was to become an agent for the Russian intelligence agency, the KGB. He made all the necessary preparations for this, and in 1975, he joined the KGB. Besides being a skilled spy, Putin is also a skilled judo wrestler, swimmer, horse rider, and skydiver. He is both a trained soldier and a skilled politician. That's why he has held power in Russia for the past 25 years and has carved out a unique identity for himself globally.
Talking about his personal life, he became friends with a flight attendant, Lyudmila Putina, through a mutual friend. This friendship blossomed into love, and he married her in 1983. However, this love/relationship didn't last long, and they divorced by mutual consent in 2014. Putin has two daughters with Lyudmila.
After their divorce, he became involved with Alina Kabaeva, one of the most respected gymnasts in the world of gymnastics. She has won two Olympic medals, 14 World Championship medals, and 21 European Championship medals. She is said to be Putin's longtime best friend. Putin, 73, is currently single.
