The Cobbler's Test

Once, God appeared in a dream to a cobbler who told him that he would come to his shop the following morning.

The cobbler's shop was small, and his income was limited. He had few utensils. Despite this, he was happy with his life.

He was a truthful, honest, and charitable man. So God decided to test him.

The cobbler woke up in the morning and began preparing. He brought milk, tea leaves, and sweets for breakfast to serve to God. After cleaning his shop, he waited for God. It had been raining heavily that morning. After a while, he saw a cleaning woman shivering in the rain.

The cobbler felt pity for her and made tea for her with the milk he had brought for God.

The day passed. At 12 noon, a woman came with a child and said, "My child was hungry, so he needed milk." The cobbler gave all the milk to the child.  In this way, it was four in the evening. The cobbler had been waiting impatiently for God all day.

Just then, an old man, unable to walk, came and said, "I am hungry, and it would be a great favor if I could get something to eat." Understanding his helplessness, the cobbler gave him sweets. Thus, the day passed, and night fell.

As night fell, the cobbler's patience ran out, and he reproached God, "Oh God, I waited for you from morning until night, but you still didn't come, even after you promised. Did I, a poor man, come to you just to fool you?"

Just then, a voice from the sky said, "I came to you not once, but three times today, and all three times I was very pleased with your services. And you have passed my test, because your sense of charity and sacrifice is beyond the limits of a normal human being."

This story teaches us that we should definitely help anyone in need or anyone who needs your help.  Because the scriptures say that "service to man is service to God." And those who hope for help, the needy, and the helpless are like gods on earth. Serving them brings a sense of peace and a unique sense of satisfaction.
