Love, prayer, or meditation—all are a search for the invisible, hidden within all visible things. And until a person sets out to find it, no matter how much they accumulate in the material world, they will remain impoverished. No matter how large a palace they build, or how strong a protective wall they erect, they will remain insecure. And no matter what they achieve, in the end, when they die, they will find themselves dying poor, destitute, miserable, and a beggar. Because the source of true wealth is not in the material world. The source of true wealth lies in that which is hidden within this realm and knows it.
Knowledge is the dignity of man. And the essence of knowledge lies in this very thing, in this analysis, in this science of discrimination: to separate myself from that in which I exist.
Just as the fragrance of a flower evaporates, so too must one learn the art of escaping from one's body. Just as fragrance is lost in the invisible, leaving the visible flower standing, so too must the essence of one's own knowledge be squeezed into the flower, and gradually preserve only that knowledge, which is pure.
For an hour every day, out of twenty-four hours, take out twenty-three hours for this inner search. Give twenty-three hours to the body and save one hour for yourself.
A person who doesn't have even one hour for himself is living in vain. A person who doesn't devote even one hour to this inner search is not living at all. Because in the end, when the calculations are settled, death takes away only what we have earned on the physical plane; and only what we have earned on the inner plane cannot be taken away by death. The same thing happens to us.
Keep in mind that when death takes something from you, do you have anything worth saving at that time? If not, hurry up. Spend at least one hour every day in search of the knower of the field.
