Rising from the Mud

Outside the village lived a farmer named Ramkishan. He had a very old camel, which had kept him company for years. But now the camel had grown old and was no longer as efficient at work.

One day, while walking, the camel suddenly fell into a dry pit. The pit was very deep. The camel started wailing loudly. The farmer ran and saw that the camel was unable to get out.

Ramkishan was at a loss. "What should I do? It's old, and it will take both effort and money to get it out..."

After a long thought, he decided, "Perhaps the time has come... It would be better to bury it here, covering it with soil."

He called the villagers. Everyone picked up shovels and started covering it with soil.

At first, the camel howled loudly out of fear, but after a while, it suddenly fell silent.

The villagers continued covering it with soil, while the farmer kept peeking in between.  Then, to his surprise, he saw:

Every time mud fell on the camel's back, it shook it off and stood on top of it.

Slowly, the mud filled the pit, and the camel climbed higher each time.

In a short while, the camel climbed out of the pit.

The villagers were stunned – the very mud they thought was gone had been used as a ladder.

Remember… mud will be thrown at you in many ways in your life, too. Someone will criticize you unnecessarily to prevent you from moving forward, someone will say bad things to you out of jealousy of your success, someone will appear to be adopting paths that contradict your ideals to get ahead of you…

In such a situation, you must not get discouraged and remain in the well, but courageously throw away every bit of mud, learn from it, and use it as a ladder, continuing your steps forward without abandoning your ideals.
