One winter evening, as a king was entering his palace, he saw an old guard in an old, thin uniform standing guard at the main gate.
The king stopped his carriage near him and asked the old guard, "Aren't you feeling cold?"
The guard replied, "I am feeling very cold, Your Majesty! But what can I do? I don't have a warm uniform, so I have to endure it."
The king said, "I will go inside the palace right now and send you one of my own warm clothes."
The guard, delighted, saluted the king and expressed his gratitude.
But... as soon as the king entered the palace, he forgot his promise to the guard.
In the morning, the old guard's stiff body was found at the door, along with this inscription written in his fingers on the dirt nearby:"Your Majesty! I've been guarding in this delicate winter uniform for many years, but last night your promise of warm clothes took my breath away."
Life Lesson : - This story teaches us that relying on someone else often weakens us. As long as the guard had no hope, he fought the cold with his inner strength, but false hope sapped his stamina.
"Support makes a person hollow, and expectations weaken."
So, start living from your own strength. Learn to trust your own resilience and your own strengths. Remember, no one can be a better companion, friend, teacher, or sympathizer than yourself.
