This country is located at a distance of about 10 km from Suffolk Beach in England. This country is settled on a fort which has become a ruin.
This fort was built by Britain during the Second World War. Britain later vacated this fort. Since then Sealand has been occupied by different people. This country is called a micro nation. About 13 years ago on 9 October 2012, a man named Roy Bates declared himself the Prince of Sealand. After Bates' death, his son Michael rules it.
The smallest country is called a micro nation and those which have not received international recognition. These are not a part of any country. The total area of Sealand is 250 meters (0.25 kilometers). But this fort, which has reached a dilapidated condition, is also called Rough Fort apart from Sealand.
Despite not getting international recognition, Sealand has its own currency and stamps. Sealand has a very small area due to which it has no means of livelihood.
It is said that when people got information about this country through social media, people came forward to help the people living here. They donated a lot. This provided financial help to the people here. After this, the livelihood of the people here started going on.
Now people go here for sightseeing, because of which people have also started earning here. This micro nation also has its own helipad. Sealand may be considered the smallest country among the unrecognized countries, but Vatican City is the smallest country in the world. The European country Vatican City is situated in the heart of Rome, the capital of Italy, whose area is 0.44 square km i.e. less than half a kilometer.
