Reframing Fear: How to Embrace Anxiety as a Catalyst for Change

Anxiety is a word that can make your heart beat faster just by saying or hearing it. For centuries, it has been a fear that we want to avoid at all costs. This is why we are afraid of facing anything new or exciting. In such a situation, we feel helpless and let it dominate us.

If this is the case with you too, then just think what would happen if you come to know that till now you were living in a misunderstanding about it. Research has shown that anxiety can also become a means of improving yourself. Also, if you learn to adopt it, then it can prove to be very helpful for you. Provided that you have to keep some things in mind.

Problem alarm : - Consider anxiety as a warning signal. Its purpose is not to spoil your day, but it tells you that you have a problem that needs to be solved. Instead of panicking or avoiding it, stop and ask yourself what is it trying to tell you?  Once you know this, you will be able to find a solution to the problem easily. This will reduce your anxiety.

Don't fear, use it : - When anxiety overwhelms you, don't try to fight it. Instead, to control it, refer to it as the name of someone who matters to you. This is a very simple way to overcome anxiety. It also helps the brain to handle emotions, solve problems and plan effectively. Remember, how you describe your feelings is completely up to you.

A positive approach helps the brain handle difficult moments and come up with smart solutions. So the more you see anxiety as something that can help you, the more you will be able to find ways to use it as fuel instead of fear.

Learn to adapt : - While having too much anxiety can be harmful, having no anxiety at all is also a problem. Having the right amount of anxiety can actually help you perform at your best.  Try to understand what it's trying to get you to do. You'll find that it often motivates you to act.

A German study found that when people embrace their anxiety and believe they can handle it, it can be beneficial to them. You can't always stop anxiety from showing up, but the way you look at it matters a lot.
