The price of one kg of its wood is 10 thousand dollars, which means more than eight lakh rupees in Indian rupees.

African Blackwood trees are very few in number on earth, that is they are rare. Their height is about 25 to 40 feet. African Blackwood is found in 26 countries of Central and Southern Africa. They are mostly found in dry places.

Although it takes about 60 years for this tree to fully mature, but in countries like Kenya and Tanzania, due to illegal smuggling of its wood, these trees are cut down prematurely. Due to this, the number of Blackwood has decreased drastically, due to which it has become rare.

African Blackwood wood is mostly used to make musical instruments like clarinet, flute and guitar. Apart from this, strong and durable furniture is also made from this wood, but they are quite expensive. So expensive that it is not possible for common people to buy them.
