The universe is full of mysteries. These mysteries have not been solved till date. It is believed that the strong ground on earth is formed due to the hot lava coming out of the volcano falling on the surface and solidifying. Many islands have also been formed due to volcanoes. Although there are many volcanoes on Earth, some of which are active and some are inactive, but do you know that volcanoes are present not only on Earth but also on other planets and satellites of the solar system. However, there are many of them which are inactive and have not erupted for millions of years and there is very little possibility of it ever happening in the future.
Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. There are many rocks and craters on its surface. It is believed that they were formed due to volcanoes. Scientists believe that there were once many volcanoes on this planet, but later all of them became inactive and then they never became active again.
Venus is considered to be one of the most mysterious planets in the solar system. This is because it is not possible to see its surface directly from above. Actually, its sky is surrounded by dense clouds and those clouds never break. It is believed that there are many volcanoes on this planet, some of which are active. Actually, it is a hot planet and one of the reasons for this is the activity of volcanoes.
It is said about Mars that in the past there was water here and maybe there was some kind of life as well. However, concrete evidence of this has not been found yet. Volcanoes were once present on this planet. Scientists have evidence of this.
According to scientists, Olympus Mons on Mars is the largest known volcano in the solar system, with a height of about 25 kilometers, which is three times higher than Earth's tallest mountain, Mount Everest. However, it has been inactive for millions of years and may never become active again.
Do you know that Earth's only natural satellite, the Moon, once had active volcanoes. However, they are no longer active. Scientists have strong evidence of this. It is believed that the Moon has a vast plain made of molten lava, called Maria.
