Okunoshima Rabbit Island

The world is full of amazing mysteries. When one mystery is solved, another mystery is revealed. In every country of the world, you will definitely find some such places about which very few people know. There is a different story and specialty attached to these places. In this sequence, there are some such islands in the whole world which are unique and very beautiful in themselves. These islands also attract tourists due to these qualities. In this episode, today we will talk about such a unique island where humans do not live. There is only a nest of rabbits on this island.  This is the reason why this island is known as "Rabbit Island".  Okunoshima Island of Japan is very beautiful and people also come here to visit. Let's know about this island.

Between 1929 and 1945, Japan made a poisonous gas by hiding it from the world. This poisonous gas was made in the amount of about 6 thousand tonnes. Rabbits were brought to the island to test the effect of the gas. With the passage of time, the population of rabbits started increasing here. Today the situation is that there are thousands of rabbits on this island.

Another reason has been found for such a high number of rabbits on this island. During World War II these rabbits were brought to the island and released to test the effectiveness of chemical weapons. However, the Japanese government maintains that those rabbits were destroyed at the same time. The government also says that the rabbits that are there now have nothing to do with the rabbits of that time.

According to another story, in the year 1971 some school children came here for picnic.  These children had brought 8 rabbits with them.  Today the number of these rabbits has increased to thousands. The main reason for the increase in the number of rabbits on this island is also said to be their lack of hunting. Animals like dogs and cats are not found on this island which prey on them. Bringing cats and dogs is prohibited on this island. This island is now known as "Rabbit Island". Hotels and restaurants have also opened for the tourists visiting this island.

Now there is no exact proof of the number of rabbits on this island. Nevertheless, tourists come here every day to see the rabbits on the island. A golf course has also been built on this island. Ride has also been arranged on this island for the tourists visiting to visit. So that tourists can enjoy the beautiful views on this island. In the year 1988, a museum was also opened here so that more and more people could be told about the poisonous gas. The effect of gas is shown through photographs in the museum.
