Knowledge

A disciple of Lord Buddha was shaking a beggar lying on the way. The beggar was unconscious.  Many people gathered around. When he regained some senses, Buddha's disciple said to him, 'The life lying here will end, you will die like this. In the end, at least listen to some good things, get the instruction. Come with me, I will take you to Lord Buddha. When you listen to him, your pain will go away.

' The beggar was so helpless that he could not even move. That disciple could not even lift him.  The disciple said, 'You stay here, I go to Lord Buddha, I inform him, he will definitely do something.

'The disciple reached the Buddha and told the Buddha the condition of that beggar and said, 'I tried to bring him to you, at the end of the life he too should listen to your teachings, but he is helpless, cannot come here. You tell me, what to do now? 'Buddha said, 'What is to be done, let us go to him.'

Buddha went there. Many people had gathered around. Everyone thought that if Buddha would preach, we would also listen. Buddha said, 'Wait, first of all arrange some food and give it to eat.

Food was arranged and as soon as the food entered the stomach of the beggar, he fell into a deep sleep. Everyone said that he slept, Buddha said, 'Our work is done. Now let's go from here.'

That disciple and the people standing around said to Buddha,'What a fool he is, he slept after having food. You were here, it didn't even take a sermon.'

TheBuddha said, 'It's okay, he was hungry and thirsty for many days. He was dying of hunger.  The biggest teaching for this is that the stomach should be filled first. If a person is hungry, he will not understand the meaning of religion. You guys are making this mistake. First of all, the needs of the person should be fulfilled, after that the talk of knowledge should be done.

Lesson - No matter how many deeds we do in the name of religion, but first of all see that no one is hungry around us.
