The hermitage of the Russian philosopher Gurdjieff was strange and Gurdjieff's behavior was also astonishing. One day a man came to his ashram and saw the display board outside. It was written on the board – Those who have trouble living with their parents, they should not enter this ashram.
After reading the message from the display board, the man approached Gurdjieff and said, 'You are a saint, we come to you for peace of mind. Have you taken the contract for social reform? Which you have written that you should serve your parents. Serving parents is a social system, one who has to serve his parents will do, whoever doesn't want to, he won't. What do you have to do with? We have come to you for self-realization and to know the form of God.
Gurdjieff said, 'It is the will of God, because how can those who cannot live with their parents live with God? All parents are representatives of God. God has sent you into the world through your parents.' In this way the person understood the point.
It means to say that we should respect our parents. Those who have a sense of respect for the creator, they do not need to search for God very much. God has chosen those who have given us birth and when we have respect for them, then God's grace is definitely received.
