King's Justice

King Vikramaditya was known for his justice and kindness. Everyone was happy in King Vikramaditya's kingdom, no one was sad. All the kings liked Vikramaditya and were proud of the king.

Once, Vikramaditya decided to build a palace on the banks of the river. So the king ordered his ministers to survey the place and start work.  Workers were hired and the palace was also built in a few days. The minister made the final decision before showing the palace to the king.

Looking at the palace, the minister said - Great.  Suddenly he saw something and he shouted - what is that. I had not seen it before. All the workers and soldiers started watching. Everyone noticed that there was a hut a few steps from the main gate of the palace. The minister shouted angrily and asked, whose hut is this?

A soldier said to the minister, Sir, this hut is that of an old lady. She has been living here for a long time. The minister went to the hut and talked to the old lady. The minister told the woman that I want to buy your hut.

The old lady replied, Sir, I am sorry, but I cannot accept your offer. I love my hut more than my life. I live in it with my late husband and I want to stay in this hut even further.

The minister tried to tell her that her hut would spoil the beauty of the newly built palace. But the old woman was strong in her attitude and she was ready to face any consequences and any punishment. He absolutely refused to sell his hut. The matter was then taken to the king.

The wise and benevolent king after thinking for some time said that the old lady's hut will remain where it already is. This will only enhance the beauty of the new palace.

After that, looking at the minister, the king said that we should not consider anything weak. Because that item is very valuable to someone.  After this decision people realized why their king was respected by all people and all other neighboring states.

This story tells us that nothing is trivial. Everything has its own different significance.  May be, the thing which is trivial to us is very valuable to someone else, so all things of nature should be respected.
