Speak the Truth

Swami Vivekananda's real name was Narendranath Dutt. From childhood, Swami Vivekananda was very intelligent in reading and writing.

One day Swami Vivekananda was telling the story to his friends in class. Swami Vivekananda's friends were so lost in listening to his story that when the teachers came to the class, they did not know.

The teacher had just started teaching in the class, when she heard a whisper. The teacher asked in a loud voice, "Who is talking?"

Some students pointed to Swami Vivekananda ji and the students sitting near him. The teacher got angry. The teacher started asking students questions related to the lesson. None of the students answered the question correctly. After that the teacher asked Swami Vivekananda ji a question, to which Swami Vivekananda ji gave the correct answer.

After listening to the correct answer of Swami Vivekananda ji, the teacher became convinced that Swami Vivekananda was concentrating on studies. But the students sitting with them were talking and were not paying attention to studies.

The teacher made the students stand on the bench. Seeing this, Swami Vivekananda also stood on the bench with the students.

The teacher said to Swami Vivekananda, "You sit down."  Swami Vivekananda ji told the teacher, "I will also stand, because I was the one who was talking to them."

Seeing Swami Vivekananda's courage to speak the truth, everyone was very surprised and very impressed by him.
