Greed

There was once a very greedy emperor. He invaded other states and conquered them and brought their wealth to his treasury. The king also did not leave the property of the people of his kingdom.

The king had imposed various taxes on his subjects from which he used to get a huge amount every month. Everybody was very upset with his behavior.

Despite being the owner of immense wealth, he did not provide any assistance for the poor of the state. When the king's master came to know about this, one day came to him and expressed his desire to see his treasure.

The emperor proudly showed him his entire treasure. Gems, diamonds, emeralds etc. were piled there. Seeing them, the master asked the king, 'How much do you earn from these gems?'

The emperor replied, 'These gems do not earn, but they have to be guarded to guard these gems, due to which expenditure is incurred on them.  Hearing this, the Guru said to the king, 'It costs to keep them?'

The Guru further said to the king, "You go with me, I will show you a better stone than this."  The Guru took the king away to one of the villages where a poor widow was running a mill in a house.

Master said, look - this mill is more valuable and useful than your precious stones like gems, diamonds, emeralds. It grinds wheat which pacifies people's hunger and also earns widow woman.  So this is a real stone mill. From that day onwards the Emperor's eyes opened and he stopped greedily.

That is to say, we should collect money as needed and donate it to the needy.
