To Respect

Once there was a woodcutter named Ramlal. He was very kind and good-natured. He was always ready to help people. But people never respected him. So he started feeling very sad. The woodcutter started thinking that there is no value for good in this world.

One day someone told that woodcutter about a monk. The woodcutter immediately went to the monk and said, 'Why don't people value my goodness?

The monk heard the woodcutter very carefully and then took out a ring from his pocket and gave it to the woodcutter. Seeing this, the woodcutter said to the monk that I am not asking for any reward from you, but asking for the solution of my problem.

The monk told the woodcutter that this is the solution. Take this ring and come and meet me after a week from today. But during this one week, you have to go to different people and know the price of this ring, that is, how much does this ring cost? But take care of this - do not sell the ring but bring the ring back.

The woodcutter said okay. After this the woodcutter first went to a merchant and the woodcutter showedthe ring to that merchant. The merchant looking at the ring said, 'I will give one thousand rupees of this ring.' The woodcutter told the merchant, "I don't have to sell this ring, just to know its value."

The woodcutter went ahead with the ring and went to another merchant and showed him the ring. The other merchant looked at the ring carefully and said, 'I will give ten thousand rupees of this ring.' The woodcutter also told another businessman, "I don't have to sell this ring, just to know its value."

The woodcutter moved forward with the ring and this time he went to a goldsmith. The goldsmith looked at the ring very carefully and said to the woodcutter, 'It is a very precious ring. I will give you one lakh rupees for this ring. Give me this ring. The woodcutter also told the goldsmith, "I don't have to sell this ring, just to know its value."

The woodcutter was very surprised to see that everyone is charging different price of this ring.  Finally, he took the ring to the biggest jeweler in the city, thinking.

The jeweler looked at the ring very carefully and said to the woodcutter, 'I cannot sell the price of this ring even after selling everything I own, because this ring is very precious. After seeing all this Ramlal's problem was not solved but rather it was increased.

Ramlal could not understand this and after much distraction, he went to the monk after a week and told all this. The monk said to the woodcutter, so far you have not got the answer to your questions.

The monk said to the woodcutter that the ring was the same.  But the ability of the person in front was as much as he was, he valued this ring accordingly.

Exactly the same behavior happens to all of us in real life. Maybe you are very good, but if the person in front is not good then he will never see your goodness and will never be able to appreciate you. One should never be unhappy for this, because it is said - the world looks the same to the person it is.

The fool always sees the person in front as a fool.  The cheater always sees dishonesty in the person in front. The outstanding person always sees goodness in the person in front, so always keep doing good.  Because you become what you think and make yourself a good person.
